Meet your Keytours' driver-guide in Zurich, drive through the countryside to the mountain resort of Engelberg on a charming journey through central Switzerland.
Visit the village of Engelberg, located 25 kilometers south of Lake Lucerne on a large plateau at around 1,000 meters above sea level. The glacier and Mount Titlis at 3,239 meters and the Hahnen at 2,600 meters overlook the surrounding mountains. It is also known for its thrilling ski and freeride areas. In summer, on the contrary, activities focus on hiking, mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking and golf.
The Benedictine abbey founded in 1120 still exerts a decisive influence on the village today. The monks still live, work and teach there. The remaining Belle Époque houses are also witnesses of their time. Combined with the warm atmosphere of Switzerland, the particular architecture gives the abbey village a charm of its own.
On the way back, stop in Lucerne. Admire the Chapel Bridge, the famous lion and spend some free time in the Old Town.
